What do you consider to be one of your most significant achievements and why?
I loved extending a job offer to our first hire at Arcade. We’d dreamed of providing a platform for people to do great work and be a part of something very enjoyable. It meant a lot to go beyond our original group of three partners and begin to build a team.
Could you share your approach to mentorship, including any advice you have for aspiring executives?
I’ve had amazing mentors through my life. One of my favorites was Casey Jones, an executive with Grey Advertising, McCann and Dell Computers. When I first got into marketing, he told me to “treat my job as a craft” and didn’t explain what he meant. I’ve thought about that for years. I’ve also had incredible mentors at my past agency, with my partners and others I’ve worked with. Advice I would give is to work closely with people you admire, take on opportunities, go to lunch, give updates, ask questions and write questions so you can ask them later. Speak up.
What challenges have you overcome to get here today?
We lost our partner, Christy, to cancer a year ago. She was incredible. We’ve needed to navigate through a lot with that.
