What do you consider to be one of your most significant achievements and why?

One of my most significant achievements was leading an $11 million campaign to build Teen Centers in every high school in Davis County. These centers are embedded directly in high schools and provide essential resources like showers, laundry facilities, food pantries and wrap-around support for students facing significant barriers. The pinnacle of this campaign was the construction of a 16-bed facility (Teen Living Center) that would provide a safe and stable residence for our homeless youth in Davis County.

What makes this achievement especially meaningful is that it allowed us to invite the community to be part of a solution that is truly generational. Together, we have created spaces where young people can access the basic needs and support they deserve, giving them a real opportunity to succeed. I believe deeply that when we elevate one, we all rise and this work is a powerful example of what is possible when a community comes together with that shared purpose.

What does success look like to you?

Success is rooted in cooperation, collaboration and a deep commitment to work. It is not an individual achievement; it is a shared process. The real power lies in the “we.” It lies in people coming together with the purpose of solving problems and strengthening the community we are part of.

What leadership philosophy guides your strategic vision and decision-making?

I have based my leadership philosophy on a guiding quote from Margaret Mead: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world. In fact, it’s the only thing that ever has.” This belief, coupled with the attributes of authenticity, honesty and integrity, guides my decision-making and daily planning. It motivates me that there is no problem that collectively, common-minded people cannot solve. The power of collaboration, shared purpose and a deep commitment to creating meaningful and lasting impact in the community guide and shape my work.
