What is the most rewarding thing about your job industry?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing confusion turn into confidence. When residents understand the “why” behind regulations, they’re more willing to engage, comply and even help shape the community. That’s when planning stops feeling like a barrier and starts feeling like a shared responsibility.
What challenges have you overcome to get here today?
I entered city planning without a traditional planning degree, which meant learning zoning and land use from the ground up. That challenge pushed me to focus on systems and people — not just rules — and it shaped how I approach leadership today. It taught me that different paths can still lead to meaningful impact.
