What is one thing you’re most proud of accomplishing at work in the past year or in your overall career?
I’m most proud of the role I’ve played in ensuring the English Skills Learning Center intentionally serves learners often overlooked in traditional education systems. Under my leadership, the organization has become strengths-based and trauma-informed, with robust programs and curriculum for first-time adult literacy learners and for learners who are blind or visually impaired. Creating a space where people feel seen and supported has been the most meaningful work of my career.
What are you looking forward to accomplishing most in 2026?
There is significant uncertainty ahead for adult education due to changes at the federal level. What I’m most looking forward to is being part of the conversations that shape what comes next and advocating for both the English Skills Learning Center and the field as a whole. Staying engaged and responsive during times of change is where I believe leadership matters most.
