What principle or habit has most influenced your professional success?
“The ability to tinker.” I love this phrase and it was taught to me by an old colleague. It means poking around, trying to learn for yourself, trying to understand before giving up and asking for help. I have found that if you just take a breather and “tinker,” your knowledge and skills increase exponentially.
What is the most rewarding thing about your job industry?
Seeing thriving communities. It is amazing when I am able to spend a few nights in one of our clients’ communities and see its amazing farmers market or spend time with a fishing guide who welcomes people from around the world. I get to see the real lives that are impacted by what I do. Why? Because it’s people and relationships that matter.
