Brennen Creer, 33
Co-Founder & CEO | The Athletes’ Corner
What principle or habit has most influenced your professional success?
“Work like it all depends on you, and pray like it all depends on God.” That principle has guided me more than anything else. I’ve learned that building a business requires relentless effort, discipline, strategy and execution — but it also requires humility and the willingness to seek God’s direction. While building The Athletes’ Corner, we’ve seen miracles and doors open that no amount of hustle could have created on its own.
What challenges have you overcome to get here today?
There have been plenty of challenges along the way. Building a faith-based nonprofit inside the world of professional sports isn’t exactly a well-worn path, and honestly, building anything from scratch is incredibly difficult. We’ve had to convince teams and athletes to partner with a mission like ours, secure sponsorship dollars from major brands and raise operational funding just to keep the organization moving forward. There were — and continue to be — many moments where the mountain feels very steep. But every time we’ve run into a wall, God has made a way. Doors opened, people showed up and opportunities emerged that we never could have orchestrated on our own. That’s how we’ve been able to build what we’ve built and impact millions of lives in the process.
