Utah company offers world’s first FDA-approved screen protector to block blue light on phone

North Salt Lake —Gadget Guard is introducing the world’s first FDA-registered, medically rated screen protector that blocks blue light on phones. Gadget Guard’s premium Glass with Anti Blue Light screen protectors have Ocushield™ technology that protect iPhone users from headaches, fatigue, eye strain, and sleep disruption caused by blue light exposure.

Blue light is the invisible light that is emitted from our tech devices and is proven to negatively affect eye health.

Ocushield has developed medically rated Anti Blue Light technology that has been combined with Gadget Guard’s Glass, to make the most durable, scratch-resistant protection for phones. Customers can also add GuardPlus insurance, the original screen replacement warranty that provides up to $250 toward a repair if the screen ever breaks.

Studies by the University of California show blue light over time can disrupt sleep, cause eye strain as well as more serious complications like macular degeneration, headaches, and blurred vision in up to 35 percent of people using digital devices. Researchers also found children are twice as vulnerable to eye damage from blue light as adults are.

The Gadget Guard medical grade blue light filter can block up to 99 percent of harmful UV & blue light between 300-400 nanometers (nm), the unit that light is measured in, and up to 54 percent between 400-470 nm. This visual “noise” reduces contrast and can contribute to digital eye strain.

The average American spends nearly 3 hours a day on their phones. Almost half in the US say they’re addicted to their phones, and 71 percent use their phones within 10 minutes of waking up.

Gadget Guard offers non-insured Anti Blue Light screen protectors for $49.99 (with the option to add GuardPlus at checkout). The Anti Blue Light screen protectors are available here for

the iPhone 13/13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12/12 Pro, iPhone 11, and iPhone SE 2020/2022.

Gadget Guard has invested in Ocushield to create a strategic partnership that allows the company to offer the Anti Blue Light technology for screen protectors. Gadget Guard will also develop Alara™ inserts for Occushield. The Alara technology is used to embed cases and inserts with patented, micro-thin antenna that automatically pairs a phone to dramatically reduce EMF radiation from the device, while still maintaining a strong signal.
