WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah — The Greater Zion Convention & Tourism Office is excited to announce the development of a new trail park designed to serve residents and visitors alike. Created in partnership with Desert Color and the Utah Trust Lands Administration, the park will be located north of State Route 7 and west of River Road within the Desert Color community. The park is anticipated to be complete in the fall.
A Destination for Local Riders and Competitive Events
The park will feature approximately six miles of mountain bike-optimized trails designed for beginning and intermediate riders. The trail system is designed in collaboration with the Utah High School Cycling League to meet the standards of a National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) racecourse, making it a premier venue for youth mountain biking events.
In addition to mountain bike trails, the park will feature ample parking and dedicated event space, allowing it to accommodate a wide range of organized activities and community gatherings.
The park will be open and accessible to the public for regular use outside of organized events, providing a high-quality outdoor space for the community to enjoy year-round. Whether for casual rides or training, residents will have consistent access to the park.
The trail park is funded through visitor-generated tax revenue, including the transient room tax paid by those who stay in local hotels and similar overnight accommodations. The project is an example of how Washington County is directly reinvesting tourism revenues in the local community, delivering a top-tier recreational amenity to enhance local quality of life.
