SALT LAKE CITY — Updates to Foothill Village, Asana Partners’ 260,000 square-foot, grocery-anchored neighborhood center at 1400 South Foothill Drive, have brought a wave of new food, service, and shopping brands to East Bench in Salt Lake City. The latest: Magnolia Bakery will open a 1,500 square-foot space in fourth quarter. Other upcoming and recent openings include:

The final phase of construction — a partnership with Salt Lake City connecting the center to Curtis Park — will be complete this month.

“As Salt Lake City consistently tops national lists for population growth, a community centerpiece like Foothill Village has never been more important. Recent upgrades showcase the premium location and merchandise mix while introducing walkability and placemaking opportunities at the center. We continue to see strong interest from community-centric retailers drawn to these changes,” commented Ashley McDonald, Senior Director – Development, Asana Partners.

Renovations were designed to modernize the neighborhood center, connect with the adjacent park, and capitalize on residents’ affinity for outdoor experiences. A 30,000 square-foot, enclosed space was removed to make way for a large plaza and an access point for nearby residents. Structural improvements also allowed for smaller, neighborhood-serving shops and dining surrounding the new plaza. Other updates included refinishing the building façades and upgrading parking with better lighting and new wayfinding signs.

A ribbon cutting highlighting the partnership with Salt Lake City and the plaza completion is set for mid-July. Patrons can expect community programming in the open space year-round.

Built in 1954 and anchored by Dan’s Fresh Market, the well-known center is surrounded by families and young professionals in the nearby East Bench and Bonneville Hills neighborhoods and is less than two miles from the University of Utah. Offering more than 50 tenants across two levels, the retailer mix is a careful assemblage of local, regional, and national brands selected to serve this growing community.
