This accolade reflects the innovative collaboration between FOCUS’s structural engineering team and Mint Architecture, culminating in the successful completion of this pioneering co-working space.

The award was presented during the 9th annual Utah Construction & Design Magazine’s Most Outstanding Projects Awards ceremony, held on December 12 at the Little America Hotel. The event celebrated 37 exceptional projects, with awards recognizing excellence in design, community impact, and innovation.

Kiln Provo stands out as the first flex-office space designed and constructed from the ground up, incorporating striking architectural features such as 13-foot-high perimeter windows and 17-foot-tall ceilings. This design showcases the structural, HVAC, and electrical components, complemented by contrasting black steel beams and white painted wood trusses—a testament to the creative synergy between FOCUS and Mint Architecture.

Adam Eastman, production manager at FOCUS, expressed the firm’s pride in receiving this distinguished recognition. “Being acknowledged for the Kiln Provo project underscores our commitment to excellence and the fruitful collaboration with our partners,” Eastman stated. “This award sets a new standard for what can be achieved when architects and engineers unite towards a common vision.”
