What is your favorite part of your job?

I have two jobs that intersect in fascinating ways. As an educator, I see and work with families. As a legislator, I help families get the funding that positively impacts their lives. When the legislature voted for full-day kindergarten, supply money, teacher stipends for professional development and safety measures for our schools, I saw the positive outcomes immediately.

What organizations do you find most important to support?

I believe education is the most important organization to support because our world is so dynamic. Our careers and the ways we communicate are changing so rapidly that we need to have nimble minds to keep current. Educational opportunities at all levels are paramount to success. Every person who has a passion can go further with the support of education, whether it is online, in person or through a book.
