Once performance expectations are met and leadership authority is established, the skills required shift — from proving capability to maintaining clarity, consistency and composure in a demanding environment.

About Lucy
Lucy Knight Andre serves as CEO of Stadler Signaling North America and chief of staff, general counsel and corporate secretary of Stadler US Inc. in Salt Lake City.
Since joining Stadler in 2016, she has helped oversee the setup and expansion of Stadler’s North American operations. Andre has seen the company grow from eight full-time employees to almost 700, build and fill a 500,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, and secure several billion dollars in orders. She has also led the creation of Stadler’s North American signaling business.
A native of Salt Lake City, Andre earned a bachelor’s degree from Webster University in Vienna, Austria, and was employed there as an editor for the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis before returning to Salt Lake City to earn a law degree from the University of Utah. She has since worked as a college professor, a prosecutor, a partner at a law firm and in-house counsel for multiple organizations.
A passionate advocate of transit and a believer in enhancing local communities, Andre participates on many corporate and community boards and is actively involved in a variety of nonprofit organizations.
