David started his career in finance, working as an equity trader at JPMorgan from 2007 to 2011, a project manager with Goldman Sachs from 2011 to 2013, and a private equity associate with The Aclaime Group from 2013 to 2014.
Following seven years in finance, he enrolled at Brigham Young University in 2014 to earn his law degree and master’s degree in business administration on a full scholarship. Following his first year of law school, he earned a CFA charter in 2015.
In late 2015, during his first semester of business school, David purchased his first food-related small business and started applying many of the principles he learned while working at two of the world’s largest companies. He found that his passion was working on Main Street rather than Wall Street as he learned to grow and operate a small business.
Since graduating from BYU and completing a brief stint at Hanesbrands as a treasury manager from 2017 to 2019, he launched KAM as a vehicle to acquire, operate and grow high-quality, Utah-founded food concepts. He is passionate about his vision to grow KAM into Utah’s premier owner and operator of best-in-class, hospitality-focused food concepts.
David earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Pittsburgh, where he ran on the varsity cross country team. He resides in Lehi, Utah, with his wife, Danielle, and five children.
