What unique strengths do you bring to your professional and other roles?
Fort Street Partners is a full-service commercial real estate owner and operator with a portfolio of roughly two million square feet. When we started the business, my background was primarily in commercial real estate leasing, but I had very little experience with the ownership and operational side of the business. When we acquired our first building, I had to dive in and learn quickly — from property management and accounting, to construction management and operations.
One of my greatest strengths is my willingness to take on challenges and figure things out. I enjoy solving problems, building systems and processes that help our team operate more efficiently, and learning from others who are experts in their fields. That mindset has allowed me to grow alongside the company and contribute to building a strong operational foundation for our portfolio.
What’s your next big goal or project in your professional journey?
At Fort Street Partners, we’ve built a fully integrated platform that provides investment, asset, property and construction management for our roughly two million square foot commercial real estate portfolio. We’ve always tried to do things a little differently; focusing on exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with our tenants and maintaining transparency with our partners.
Our next big goal is to expand these capabilities beyond our own portfolio by offering our management and operational services to third-party owners. We’re passionate about the level of service and care we provide, and we see a great opportunity to grow this side of the business while continuing to build long-term partnerships and deliver value across more properties.
What key advice would you offer to other aspiring leaders?
The most important advice I can offer is to truly believe in your team. Surround yourself with people who share your work ethic and vision, and put them in positions where they can thrive. Challenges are inevitable, but so are solutions. The key is to face those challenges together — collaborating, communicating and trusting your team to find the best path forward.
