Crista Vance
Co-Founder & COO | Mobrium
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
One of my biggest accomplishments is actually not business-related. For more than a year, I exclusively pumped to breastfeed my son, who was born with a genetic disorder that included a cleft lip and palate. It was one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done and to me, challenging accomplishments are the most valuable.
In a world of specialization, I take pride in being a well-rounded individual who is always pursuing improvement and balance in my life. It has been so fulfilling for me to raise five children and start a business from the ground up. I have been able to achieve this balance by focusing on mindfulness in every situation. When my kids need my attention, I focus on them and don’t try to multitask. Sometimes this means I’m most productive when they’re all asleep.
Reading to my kids is one of my favorite ways to spend time with them, so pairing that passion with the business world by creating and publishing two children’s books on the topic of artificial intelligence was incredible.
What’s your next big goal or project in your professional journey?
Mobrium has big revenue goals that I am leading this year. With that comes greater resources for our charitable avenues. We are partnering with Church World Services and Operation Smile and continually donate side by side with our growth. The more we grow, the more we are able to share. As a fully bootstrapped, self-funded company, we have been able to stay true to our values.
What key advice would you offer to other aspiring leaders?
You don’t have to act a certain way or keep your personal life tucked away to be a professional leader. Let your reliable actions and undeniable results speak for you.
