What emerging market trends or disruptions are you preparing your company for?

We’re preparing for rapid changes in our industry and in consumer expectations more broadly — everything from more seamless payments to ensuring robust cybersecurity and implementing AI for personalization at scale. Our focus is on removing friction across both customer and employee journeys and modernizing UCCU’s service stack so we can meet rising expectations for convenience, security and tailored financial experiences.

What has been a significant challenge you’ve faced? How did you overcome it?

One of the most significant challenges has been leading UCCU through a period of rapid technological and behavioral change in financial services. Customer expectations are shifting faster than the industry has historically moved. We are overcoming that by aligning the organization around a clear modernization strategy directly tied to our mission. We’re empowering teams to remove friction across every member and employee journey through investments, a clear strategy and staying rooted in our mission. It requires focus, transparency and a willingness to rethink long‑standing processes, but it’s made us a more adaptive and customer‑centric organization.

How do you define success for yourself and your company?

Success means creating real value for our members and making a meaningful, positive impact on people. Personally, success means genuinely helping as many individuals and businesses as possible improve their financial strength, achieve their goals and dreams and love where they bank. For UCCU, success is measured in the trust our members place in us and in our ability to make their financial lives stronger and easier to manage. When our employees feel empowered to deliver that kind of value every day, and our members feel it, that’s success.
