What emerging market trends or disruptions are you preparing your company for?

We are keeping a close eye on supply chain challenges and rising material costs. That is why we have focused on domestic manufacturing and opening micro-plants across the country. This helps us cut shipping costs, deliver faster, reduce environmental impact and increase customer customizations. We are also exploring new materials like hemp-based wood alternatives to give customers sustainable options without compromising quality.

How do you define success for yourself and your company?

For me, success is not just about revenue. It is about building a company that creates something people love, that runs efficiently and that treats customers and employees well. When we deliver a product that surprises and delights someone or solves a tricky design challenge, that is a win. Success is growing responsibly while staying true to our Made in America values.

Describe the growth of your company in recent years. What other major achievements did the company accomplish under your leadership?

Murphy Door has grown from a part-time side hustle to a nationally recognized business, bringing in nearly $60 million a year through our coordinated brands. We have expanded from selling custom hinges, to creating hidden doors, Murphy beds, and home goods for clients — from families to Hollywood studios. Along the way, we have won multiple National Association of Home Builders awards, been named one of Fortune’s Most Innovative Companies, made the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies list four years in a row, and I have personally been honored as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
