Sierra Benson Collett, 26
Leadership Program Officer, Leadership & Conflict Coach | Cultural Vistas
Was there a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today?
Six months out of college, I was in a job that didn’t fulfill me. There was one pivotal decision I made to myself that I wanted to find a job that would utilize the conflict transformation skills I’ve learned in depth. Right after that decision, within one month that winter, I lost my job, the family dog, and my father-in-law who was a close, personal and professional mentor to me. I decided I was going to put things out in the world that made a positive difference, not just one that looks good on paper or in the bank account, because we only get this life as long as we get it, and we never really know how long that is going to be. Crazily enough, within the week, I found what turned out to be my current position and it’s been a surreal experience.
What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?
I hope to be continuously fulfilled. I hope to create spaces that bring more unity and whole-hearted leadership in the world. I would love to continue supporting others in their vertical leadership development so they can create a positive difference in a world that sorely needs it.
