Under Mary Beckerle’s leadership, the Huntsman Cancer Institute expanded to over 1 million square feet of research and care space, developed mobile screening clinics and affiliated with hospitals in five states. She secured its designation as a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center, boosting its national reputation for cancer genetics and treatment innovations, especially in rural communities. Recently, she spearheaded plans for a new Comprehensive Cancer Center in Vineyard, Utah, to enhance regional access to research and care. Mary’s accolades include the Knudsen Prize in Genetics and election to the National Academy of Sciences. She remains a faculty member and board director at Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
