A Salt Lake City native with international experience, Lucy Knight Andre earned her bachelor’s from Webster University in Vienna, Austria, before obtaining her law degree from the University of Utah. Her career spans roles as prosecutor, private practice attorney and in-house counsel in both countries.

In her current role, Lucy has grown Stadler U.S. from eight to over 500 employees, securing over $2 billion in orders.

As the first female CEO in the Stadler Group, her proudest achievement is pioneering Utah’s first Swiss-style youth apprenticeship program — a debt-free system that allows young adults to gain practical skills while earning an associate degree.

Lucy recently received the 2024 Salt Lake Chamber Champion award and has led groundbreaking transportation innovations, including the first hydrogen passenger train in the United States and the first fully battery-powered passenger train in the U.S.

Her next goal: “Solidifying Stadler’s reputation as a quality, customer-focused partner in both our rolling stock and signaling business.”
