Atim Atte Enyenihi Ph.D. combines scientific brilliance with visionary leadership as strategic industry advisor for technology and innovation in Salt Lake City’s Office of Economic Development. With a doctorate in analytical chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and postdoctoral training at Sweden’s Karolinska Institute, she has dedicated nearly two decades to groundbreaking scientific innovations.

“Two accomplishments stand out from my career,” she says. “Helping develop the test that led to Utah adding X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy to its newborn screening panel, … giving families a chance to act before symptoms appear, … and advancing immunotherapy approaches for leukemia by discovering peptide targets that showed early promise in killing cancer cells while sparing healthy ones.”

Beyond her professional work, Atim champions STEM education by volunteering at Utah STEM Fest and serving on the Women Tech Council board. Fluent in Spanish and Swedish, she brings a global perspective to her community involvement.
