In just two years as chief people officer at 1-800 Contacts, Angie Balfour has driven record employee engagement among 1,400 associates at a 30-year-old company. Her distinctive ability to balance empathy with execution has created a workplace where team members feel genuinely valued while achieving exceptional results.
“My greatest accomplishments will always be the high-performing people departments I’ve led,” Angie notes. “Seeing former team members now leading their own organizations is very fulfilling.”
Her impressive background includes serving as chief people officer at Weave during its IPO, head of Instagram human resources and director of human resources at Facebook. With a bachelor’s in human resource management from Utah State University and an MBA from the University of Utah, she brings both academic expertise and practical experience to her role.
“I view my position as both an opportunity and responsibility to demonstrate that leadership, empathy and strategic thinking are not defined by gender,” she explains.
