Utah-based accessory brand, Thread, launches new advisory board

Provo — Thread has been taking the accessory world by storm since they were founded in 2015 under the name Thread Wallets. The brand has since been known for challenging the idea of what essential accessories can look like. What started as a brand pushing for expressive and creative designs for wallets has now grown into the go-to accessory brand for anyone on the go. Represented by snowboarders, skaters and surfers alike, the development of Thread’s wallets, bags, lanyards, and more have gained exponential success throughout the years. However, even though Thread has been around since 2015, there was not an executive team or partners until 2017. Since then, the team has owned and operated without any venture-backed entity or taken on any debt.

As a multi-million dollar business, this September 2022 marks the establishment of the Thread advisory board. Despite outstanding performance put forth by founders and partners of the company thus far, the expansion of the Thread product line called for the company to actively build out an advisory board. With John Wilson, Co-founder & President of Stance, Alan Ek, Founder and CEO of Madson Sunglasses, and Davis Smith, Founder of Cotopaxi as advisors, Thread is committed to the authentic and ethical expansion of the brand with the strategic support and expertise of its new advisory board. The Thread team looks forward to the growth that can thrive under the strong partnerships that they are nurturing.

“We are a healthy business and excited for the knowledge and guidance from our advisory board to continue to bring Thread to new heights,” says Chief Brand Officer, Trevor Reese.

With a growing social media presence and an Instagram following of over 319,000, Thread is no longer just a dream, but reality. Thread helps real athletes through their sponsorships, and gives them the title of Threadhead, which only highlights the close bond between the brand and those associated with it. Thread takes their products to a personal level, empowering people to be individuals, one accessory at a time. The expansion possible with the addition of the Thread advisory board will only continue to expand the authentic core value of expression for all to “carry on.”
