SALT LAKE CITY — MotionOps, a software platform for field service businesses, announced the acquisition of Emitto, an international communications technology platform focused on business messaging and customer engagement.
The acquisition is part of MotionOps’ broader strategy to expand its customer communication capabilities and more closely connect messaging with the operational workflows field service companies manage every day. By bringing Emitto’s international communications infrastructure and expertise into the platform, MotionOps is strengthening the foundation for customer messaging across markets, channels, and operational use cases.
Emitto’s technology and expertise will support the continued development of communication features across the MotionOps platform, including customer updates related to jobs, proposals, payments, scheduling, and field activity.
MotionOps has already introduced expanded email and SMS functionality that allows businesses to send proposals, invoices, change orders, reminders, payment follow-ups, customer portal links, and “On My Way” updates directly from the platform. Notifications can be sent from both desktop and mobile devices, while a centralized communication log provides teams with a record of messages sent to each customer.
The company is also placing greater emphasis on message delivery visibility, helping teams better understand the status of outbound customer communications rather than relying solely on a message being marked as sent.
“Customer communication is closely tied to almost every part of a field service operation,” said Trevor Maddux, Co-Founder of MotionOps. “The Emitto acquisition gives us a stronger technical foundation to build those interactions directly into the workflows our customers are already using.”
Rather than developing messaging as a standalone feature, MotionOps is integrating communication into the broader lifecycle of a job, from the initial proposal through scheduling, service delivery, invoicing, payment, and job follow-ups.
The acquisition is expected to accelerate MotionOps’ roadmap across automated notifications, transactional messaging, customer updates, and other communication workflows.
“Service businesses shouldn’t have to move between multiple systems to understand what was sent to a customer and when,” said Nikola Cvetkovic, Co-Founder of MotionOps. “Bringing Emitto into MotionOps gives us a head start in making communication a more integrated part of the platform.”
