SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity awarded The Taffy Shop, LLC, a post-performance tax reduction for its expansion in Washington County. The corporate incentive is part of the state’s Rural Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (REDTIF) program.
As part of the agreement, Taffy Shop, LLC plans to add 77 new, high-paying jobs and invest $15,346,426 in Utah during the next 7 years.
“For us, this is about more than just growth,” said Jeff Wilson, founder and CEO of Taffy Shop. “It’s about building something meaningful right here in Utah, creating great jobs, supporting our community, and continuing to make products people genuinely love.”
Taffy Shop is an online-focused retailer that ships more than 80 flavors of gourmet saltwater taffy worldwide. The family-owned business specializes in customizable small-batch taffy in reusable bags, catering to events, gifts, and individuals. With the relocation of manufacturing, the Taffy Shop intends to be better equipped to handle high-volume orders for large retailers
“This is a great win for our community,” said St. George Mayor Jimmie Hughes. “We welcome Taffy Shop’s investment in St. George and the creation of new high-paying jobs that will benefit our residents and strengthen our local economy for years to come.”
