OGDEN, Utah — With a goal of raising $200 million, Amplify Weber State: The Campaign for Weber State University is on its way to expanding student opportunities, enhancing their experiences, and ensuring they graduate prepared to succeed. Watch the campaign video.

The university launched the multi-year campaign on Jan. 9, announcing $125,574,910 is already secured toward the $200 million goal.

“Since the beginning of this institution, our supporters have stepped up again and again in ways that transform our campuses, advance student access and opportunity, and better our community overall,” said Interim President Leslie Durham. “That shared success has brought us to this point, and now it’s time for an amazing next chapter.”

Private donations have a major impact at WSU. In the past several years, philanthropy has supported vital programs and opportunities like national defense research at Miller Advanced Research & Solutions Center, the highly demanded occupational therapy assistant program, startup business funding and mentoring through Wildcat MicroFund, and free course materials through Stewart Library Open Educational Resources.

Since the Amplify campaign’s inception, donors have funded more than 150 new scholarships, helping thousands of students pursue their goals and graduate.

WSU alum Steve Starks, CEO of the Larry H. Miller Company and vice chair of the organizing committee for the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, is chairing the campaign.

“What I love most about this campaign is that it’s about students and access and education,” Starks said during the campaign kickoff event. “I know without a doubt that what the community puts into Amplify Weber State will be returned exponentially in benefits for our students, our region, our state, and beyond.”

As the university continues working toward its $200 million goal, upcoming fundraising efforts will include events and opportunities for supporters to engage with WSU’s mission and invest in the future of students.

Funds will help position WSU for success in the coming decades and support high-priority programs. These include:

  • Expanding student scholarships
  • Meeting workforce needs and providing immersive learning experiences
  • Growing learning communities — which connect students with like-minded classmates and opportunities relevant to their studies — to increase student retention
  • Championing teaching excellence

The focus is on areas that will boost student opportunities and experiences by increasing access, elevating learning, and building community.
