SALT LAKE CITY — Visit Salt Lake, Visit Park City and Sundance Resort, collectively known as the Wasatch Culinary Collective, celebrated the announcement that the Wasatch region will be included in the new MICHELIN Guide Southwest, marking a major moment for one of the country’s most rapidly rising culinary destinations.
The MICHELIN Guide Southwest will cover four states, including Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. The first official selection will be revealed during the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Southwest Ceremony, which will be announced at a later date.
MICHELIN’s anonymous Inspectors are already in the field making reservations, exploring neighborhoods and identifying culinary gems across the region. Restaurants may earn MICHELIN Stars, Bib Gourmand distinctions for exceptional value, Green Stars for efforts in sustainable gastronomy, MICHELIN Recommended status and other professional awards.
“Salt Lake’s culinary community has been growing in extraordinary ways, and we are thrilled to see that talent recognized on a global stage,” said Kaitlin Eskelson, President & CEO, Visit Salt Lake. “We have long known how special the food, hospitality and creativity along the Wasatch Front truly are. With the arrival of the MICHELIN Guide, we are excited for the world to experience the quality, innovation and sense of place that define our dining scene.”
“Exceptional cuisine and hospitality in Park City are essential to our mountain town’s identity,” said Jennifer Wesselhoff, President & CEO, Visit Park City. “The MICHELIN Guide will bring deserved visibility to the chefs and hospitality teams who help shape the Wasatch Back’s unique flavor.”
“Sundance has a deep culinary philosophy rooted in craftsmanship, sustainability and connection to the land,” said Chad Linebaugh, General Manager at Sundance Resort. “We are proud to welcome the MICHELIN Guide to the Wasatch and look forward to sharing that authenticity with the world.”
The MICHELIN Guide’s selection process is fully independent. Destination partners collaborate only on marketing and promotional activities, while MICHELIN’s Inspectors determine all dining selections based on the Guide’s established methodology: quality of ingredients, mastery of technique, harmony of flavors, the chef’s personality expressed through the cuisine and consistency over time.
