SUNDANCE, Utah — Sundance Mountain Resort, the premier four-season destination beneath Utah’s iconic Mount Timpanogos, proudly announces its retention of a One MICHELIN Key distinction in the 2025 MICHELIN Guide, affirming its continued place among the world’s most exceptional hotels and accommodations. This repeat honor celebrates the resort’s artful blend of hospitality, design, and nature, while also underscoring thoughtful enhancements to guest experience, with the soon-to-open Inn at Sundance Mountain Resort taking center stage.
The MICHELIN Guide’s hotel distinctions spotlight properties that excel in everything from service and comfort to unique sense of place and design. For Sundance Mountain Resort, this repeat honor lands at an exciting time as the resort advances major new guest-focused projects, including the highly anticipated Inn at Sundance Mountain Resort, set to open in January 2026. The new ski-in ski-out flagship accommodation boasting 63 rooms will further elevate the guest journey while embodying the same rugged-yet-refined character and environmental stewardship Sundance Resort is celebrated for.
Founded by Robert Redford in 1969, Sundance Resort occupies over 3,000 acres and offers an array of activities and experiences while remaining dedicated to land conservation. Having seen new ownership changes in 2020, significant developments including The Springs– a tucked away trio of relaxation pools and an outdoor sauna, the Outlaw Express lift which whisks skiers and riders to Mandan summit in seven minutes, as well as upcoming Far East terrain expansion for the 2025-2026 ski season, and Electric Horseman lift and terrain expansion for the 2026-2027 ski season, represent preservation and progress that remains true to the spirit of Sundance Mountain Resort.
“The One MICHELIN Key is both a tribute to Robert Redford’s vision and a celebration to the extraordinary team who bring the Sundance Mountain Resort experience to life every day,” said Chad Linebaugh, President & General Manager. “Retaining this recognition in 2025 is an invitation for travelers and locals alike to rediscover the magic of Sundance Resort, especially as we look ahead to the Inn’s debut this coming January.”
As Sundance Mountain Resort continues Redford’s vision for the resort and land, the centerpiece is the Inn at Sundance Resort, thoughtfully designed to blend into the landscape and offer a haven-away-from-home feel spanning two low-slung wings and prioritizing views, comfort, and a seamless connection to the outdoors. Additional accommodation renovations, including the guest cottages, have also received curated updates to preserve their original rustic charm while elevating convenience and comfort. The recently opened Mountain Camp Day Lodge and expanded skier amenities further highlight the commitment to effortless guest experiences and the next chapter of mountain hospitality.
The MICHELIN Guide’s Key distinction is awarded based on criteria such as excellence in service, interior design and architecture, comfort, consistency, authenticity, and a property’s ability to serve as a true “open door” to its destination.
