SALT LAKE CITY — Cole West, a Utah-based real estate development company, celebrated the official ribbon cutting of theYARD, a build-to-rent townhome community in Salt Lake City, located directly adjacent to the Power District. Formerly a steel fabrication yard, theYARD has been transformed into a vibrant, amenity-rich neighborhood that blends modern living with a deep respect for the site’s industrial past.
The 8.5-acre community features 157 three-story townhomes, each offering attached garages, modern finishes, and flexible leasing options. Residents also enjoy a clubhouse, fitness center, pool, landscaped greenway, and direct access to the Jordan River trail.

Originally the site of Mark Steel Company, the project incorporates steel and industrial elements into signage, seating, and architecture, preserving the legacy of the land while offering a new identity. Even the name theYARD honors its history, transforming a once-industrial site into a thriving residential neighborhood.
