SALT LAKE CITY — Today, Rocky Mountain Power celebrated the opening of its 8th Utah hyper-fast public electric vehicle charging station in Ogden. The station is one of 20 fast-charging stations throughout the state that the company is developing to support electric vehicle adoption in Utah. Charging stations in eight locations including Ivie Creek, Layton and Orem have been installed to serve customers and support sustainable transportation.

These fast chargers can fully charge an average vehicle in less than an hour — offering speeds up to 350 kilowatts.

“These public fast-charging stations will help our customers who drive electric vehicles realize the benefits of EVs while helping improve air quality for all Utahns,” said James Campbell, Rocky Mountain Power innovation and sustainability policy director. “Located strategically, these charging stations will provide a convenient charging option for electric vehicle owners in our communities and beyond.”

The project is part of the company’s Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program, which includes a $50 million investment in electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Utah.

The new stations, developed in collaboration with Electrify America, will build on this established network and significantly increase the number of fast chargers along the Wasatch Front and in other areas of the state.

“These EV chargers, like those at the city’s municipal building, are a meaningful step toward Ogden’s future, and we’re grateful to have Rocky Mountain Power as a partner in this effort,” said Ogden City Mayor Ben Nadolski. “This investment fuels economic growth and positions Ogden as a connected, forward-thinking hub in the region. These fast chargers will make our city more accessible while creating new opportunities for commerce, tourism and local business.”

Rocky Mountain Power customers are eligible for a discounted rate to use the company’s EV chargers. Learn more at RockyMountainPower.net/Stations.
