Lehi, UT — Skyridge High School, of the Alpine School District (the 40th largest school district in the United States), which earned high placements in the U.S. News and World Report 2024 Best High School in the Nation rankings, has partnered with Aegix Global to implement cutting-edge safety technology across its campus, setting a new standard for school security in Utah.

The award-winning high school has deployed Aegix’s Active Incident Management (AIM) platform, which provides real-time communication, dynamic mapping, and coordinated response capabilities during emergency situations.

Principal John Wallwork said about the new safety measures, “At Skyridge, student safety is our highest priority. The Aegix platform allows us to coordinate with law enforcement instantaneously while providing real-time information during any type of incident. This technology gives our staff, students and parents peace of mind knowing we have a highly advanced safety system in place and online.”

Officer Jacob Smith, who was recently named School Resource Officer of the Year for Utah, helped ensure the implementation met the needs of all the stakeholders. “What makes Aegix different is the continuous communication it maintains throughout an incident,” Officer Smith said. “Most systems just send an initial alert, but Aegix keeps all responders connected with up-to-the-second information. As a School Resource Officer, this gives me unprecedented situational awareness and helps me better protect our school community.”

Michael Huff, Chief Product and Technology Officer for Aegix Global, shared a personal connection to the implementation: “Three of my own children attended Skyridge High School. As such, this partnership holds special significance for my family. We designed Aegix AIM to provide the protection I want for my family. Seeing it implemented at Skyridge means we’re not just enhancing safety – we’re helping protect a community close to my heart.”

The Aegix AIM system includes:

  • Immediate, direct communication with emergency responders
  • Real-time mapping showing safe and unsafe areas
  • Multi-channel coordination for all stakeholders
  • Mobile accessibility for staff throughout the campus

Skyridge High School’s adoption of this technology comes as schools nationwide seek more effective safety solutions. The partnership between the prestigious school and Aegix Global represents a significant advancement in how educational institutions approach emergency preparedness.
