Salt Lake City— BIG-D Construction’s CEO Rob Moore was recently appointed to the Economic Development Corporation of Utah’s (EDCUtah) Board of Trustees. EDCUtah’s Board of Trustees is comprised of 37 of the most prominent business and community leaders throughout Utah who bolster the state’s economic development.

“EDCUtah is seeing a large shift to manufacturing and distribution projects in our pipeline which is increasing the complexity of the project management efforts our business development team is undertaking,” said Mike Flynn, COO of EDCUtah. “Naturally, Rob’s ‘boots on the ground’ knowledge of complex manufacturing and distribution construction projects has an important role to play on our board now more than ever, and we are thrilled to have his expertise and fresh perspective on the team.”

Under Moore’s leadership, Big-D construction has constructed some of the largest and most iconic projects in the country, including most recently, the completion of the new Salt Lake International Airport that opened in September, 2020. Big-D has also been highlighted as the largest private employer in Utah’s building construction sector. The company has grown from $2 million to over $2 billion in revenues since Moore joined the company in 1976.

“We are so fortunate to welcome Rob Moore to EDCUtah’s Board of Trustees,” said Theresa Foxley, president and CEO of EDCUtah. “His wealth of experience and knowledge has positively impacted Utah’s stellar economic growth during the last several decades. He will be a great addition to our Board, and we all look forward to working with him and benefiting from his perspectives.”

“I’m honored to join EDCUtah’s board and work with this exceptional team,” said Moore. “I look forward to sharing my experiences and contributing to the future direction and growth of EDCUtah’s mission and the continued prosperity of Utah.”
