Keith Titus, president and CEO of MarketStar, was recently elected as chair of Weber State University’s Board of Trustees. The WSU alum was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2021 and had previously served as vice chair since 2023. Titus succeeds Karla Bergeson, who had led the board since August 2023.
“Weber State’s Amplified five-year plan, launched in 2021, has been a bold, student-centered strategy that strengthened both campus and community,” Titus said. “As we begin shaping the next phase, I look forward to partnering with President Brad Mortensen, the Board of Trustees, and our stakeholders to build on that momentum.”
Titus said he’s confident WSU will stay focused on helping every student thrive “by supporting the university’s passionate faculty and staff as they deliver transformative learning experiences that uplift lives and communities.”

She has served on multiple WSU industry advisory boards and was appointed to the National Advisory Council in 2020. She was honored as an outstanding WSU alumnus in 2021.
Two new members have also joined the board:

- Brad Wilson, WSU alum and former Speaker of the Utah House of Representatives
Eight of the university’s 10 trustees are appointed by Utah’s governor and approved by the Utah Senate. Appointees are eligible to serve two four-year terms. Other appointed members of the board include Brent Bishop, Tammy Gallegos, Casey Hill, Monet Maggelet.
Weber State student body president Mia Foster and Alumni Association president Matt Dixon serve in non-appointed positions for one- and two-year terms respectively.
Together, the board’s primary roles include establishing policies, making strategic decisions for the university, and overseeing the organization’s activity.
“As we work together to adapt to the shifting landscape of higher education in Utah, this is a moment for bold ideas and collaborative leadership,” Titus said. “I’m excited to help bring that vision forward, one that prepares our students to lead, contribute, and succeed in whatever the future holds.”
At the August trustees meeting at WSU, WSU President Brad Mortensen thanked outgoing trustees Bergeson and Don Salazar for their efforts serving on the board.
