Scripius, a pharmacy benefit manager committed to transparency and affordability, announced key leadership advancements designed to accelerate innovation and strengthen its position as a leader in pharmacy benefit management.
By strengthening its leadership team, Scripius is enhancing its ability to deliver a simpler, more responsive pharmacy experience — one that prioritizes member needs, reduces friction in the system, and drives measurable improvements in affordability and service delivery.
Eric Cannon, PharmD, FAMCP, has been elevated to chief commercial officer and general manager of Scripius. In this expanded role, Cannon will continue leading pharmacy services at Select Health, while driving the strategic direction of Scripius.
As the founding leader of Scripius, Cannon helped to launch the organization in 1998 to bring greater transparency and accountability to the pharmacy benefit manager market. Today, Scripius remains an integral part of Select Health, combining transparent practices, lower service costs, and scale-driven pricing to secure competitive contracts and make prescription drugs more affordable.
“From the beginning, Scripius has been about more than managing pharmacy benefits — it’s been about changing the system for the better,” said Eric Cannon, chief commercial officer and general manager of Scripius. “This leadership structure will strengthen our ability to deliver real solutions that improve care, reduce costs, and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
To support continued growth and innovation, Scripius appointed the following leaders to key roles:
Matt Mitchell, PharmD, FAMCP, MBA, has been named chief pharmacy officer for Scripius. Mitchell will oversee formulary strategy, manufacturer contracting, clinical programs, pharmacy trend management, and network development.
Jennie Barlow, PharmD, MBA, has been appointed assistant vice president, pharmacy industry relations. Barlow will lead pharmaceutical contracting efforts and expand network development initiatives.
Steve Williams, MBA, has been named assistant vice president, pharmacy systems. Williams will manage pharmacy system infrastructure supporting over 11 million claims and more than $1 billion in pharmacy-related payments annually.
La’i Davies has been promoted to assistant vice president, pharmacy operations. Davies will continue managing critical functions including customer service, claims processing, prior authorizations, auditing, and other key operational processes for both Scripius and Select Health Pharmacy.
These leadership advancements reinforce Scripius’ commitment to redefining pharmacy benefit management through transparency and innovation — delivering meaningful solutions that address rising costs, improve access to medications, and support better outcomes across the health care system.
