What is the most fulfilling part of the work you do?

Information technology (IT) is a really interesting realm; you can easily be face-to-face with individuals and groups or all behind a screen. You’d be surprised how different things are when you’re helping someone face-to-face and see how their demeanor changes instantly by just saying hello with a smile, fixing what seems like a small issue that’s big for them, or even just being vulnerable and saying you don’t know! It’s a lot more than just helping someone do their job. We’re a part of each other’s days, and the impact of being able to help others is the most fulfilling part.

Who inspires you?

My mom and dad. Both of my parents came to the United States with nothing and faced a lot of adversity. My mom dropped out of middle school to work on a fruit farm to support her family, and she remained the breadwinner of her own family while I was growing up. My father came here as a young adult, learned a new language, became a student-body officer and an all-state football player and collegiate athlete, and also played Mr. Mom since my mom had to work while fighting a physical disease every day. Their relentless discipline, fight and grit are what inspire me to give my all daily.

What advice do you have for other young professionals?

Your heart can never lead you in the wrong direction, even if it hurts! Most times, the pain allows us to refocus on what really matters.
