Utah Business

How we are keeping our events safe right now

Last week Utah Business hosted our annual CEO of the Year awards. It was our first event post-COVID-19–the event was originally scheduled for March.

The event turned out beautifully. Almost 200 guests arrived at the Grand America Hotel without needing to hold open a door or press a button. They were greeted by hotel employees wearing masks and had access to hand sanitizer throughout the gathering.

The event was held in the Grand Ballroom so there would be more space for our guests, and each group was seated at a table with their own team–six to a table instead of our usual ten.

As our CEOs took to the stage, we took care to sanitize the microphone and podium before and after each use, allowing our guests to hear from each of this year’s winners after watching a brief video of their accomplishments. Their awards were delivered to them contact-free as they left the stage.

For those who were immunocompromised or were unable to attend, we recorded it in its entirety for those who wish to watch it below.

As we look forward to hosting further events in July and August, we are confident that we will be able to keep our guests and our honorees safe and well, while honoring them for all they have done to support their companies and teams through these challenging times.

We’d like to offer a special thank you to The Grand America Hotel who helped us re-imagine what corporate events might look like in a post-COVID-19 world. We look forward to continuing to innovate together as we monitor daily changes to our environment and find new ways to honor our community safely.
