Salt Lake City — The Domain Companies is excited to share plans for a new anchor development at 370 South West Temple in downtown Salt Lake City. The $210M project will follow the opening of Domain’s Exchange development downtown, which includes Mya and Avia apartments and The Shop shared workspace. South West Temple will allow for a 462,000sf mixed-use property embodying Domain’s focus on hospitality, sustainability, and community development.

“This project will be unparalleled in Salt Lake in terms of design, amenities, service, and partnerships,” says Matt Schwartz, Co-CEO of The Domain Companies. “Domain has launched inventive, award-winning projects in Salt Lake City and beyond, and we’re looking forward to building on that success with 370 South West Temple. From the high-rise apartment design to the fresh, groundbreaking hospitality-concept, the project will be an exciting addition to Salt Lake’s growing downtown.”

Domain has enlisted a world-class team for the project, including architecture firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB). SCB is recognized as one of the leading urban, high-rise designers whose projects include the Four Seasons in Nashville and Hub50House in Boston. New York City-based interior designers Goodrich will infuse their hospitality influence throughout the project, and local firm ArcSitio Design will design the project’s outdoor spaces. Local firm Okland Construction, in partnership with Palmisano Construction, will serve as the general contractor.

The project’s residential component will combine luxurious amenity spaces and residences with unobstructed views and a full suite of hospitality services. The property will offer two expansive outdoor spaces, featuring a pool, rooftop terrace, and fenced dog run. A full floor of amenities will include a sky lounge, work-from-home spaces and amenities, a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center, and more.

The operator for the project’s hotel will be announced soon, as will plans for a diverse range of food, beverage, and bar concepts to complete the project’s retail offerings.

Domain acquired the South West Temple site in August 2020, and construction will begin in late 2021. It is located within an Opportunity Zone and currently zoned D1 in the Central Business District. Once complete in early 2024, South West Temple will feature 342 apartments; a 202-room, 150,000 sf hotel; 14,000sf of retail and restaurants; and 265 parking spaces. The project will target LEED Silver certification from the US Green Building Council.

Domain has already successfully introduced best-in-market projects to Salt Lake City this year through The Exchange development—Mya, innovative suite apartments; The Shop, a shared workspace community; and Avia, a mixed-use, residential development. The company is known for developing and programming award-winning hotel concepts, including Maison de la Luz, the top-ranked hotel in New Orleans that appeared on Travel + Leisure’s “2020 It List: Best New Hotels in the World.”
