Copyright: What’s it good for? And how do I keep my copyright house in order?
Copyright is not just about movies and music. It can provide powerful protection for a range of productive business properties: computer software, textile designs, and architectural plans, to name a few. And a lot of copyright management can be done by laypeople—so long as you know what to look out for. This webinar will be a two-part primer discussing 1) what copyright is and what it covers, and 2) some practical steps for business owners to position themselves to secure and enforce their rights and avoid getting crosswise with others’. Your presenters are attorneys of the law firm Maschoff Brennan, a premier intellectual-property and complex-litigation boutique with offices in Salt Lake City, Park City, and Orange County, California. L. Rex Sears, PhD is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Chicago Law School, with more than two decades’ experience litigating intellectual property disputes. Alexis Juergens is a graduate of the University of Utah, where she served as executive managing editor of the Utah Law Review and received an Outstanding Achievement Award in copyright law.
