Kailee Collier creates swimwear that sells out. Her designs for Maeflower Swim combine fashion-forward details with practical functionality. Using her graphic design degree with an emphasis in surface pattern design, she creates uniquely patterned swimwear that addresses women’s actual needs.
Her entrepreneurial journey began in July 2024 as a first-time mother with a newborn and a frequently traveling husband. While many would delay their dreams, Kailee designed patterns during nap times and handled business between feedings.
“One of my biggest accomplishments has been building Maeflower Swim from the ground up while also figuring out motherhood for the first time,” she says. “If anything teaches patience and perseverance, it’s launching a business and raising a tiny human at the same time.”
The brand’s success has been impressive — exceeding its $6,000 Kickstarter goal with $8,000 raised before selling out its entire first collection within six months. This stems from Kailee’s customer-centric approach, featuring innovative solutions: a 2-inch elastic band under the bust, 3-inch crotch width (double industry standard), and sewn-in padding that eliminates shifting bra pads.
