Armstrong Teasdale adds attorneys in London and Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City — Armstrong Teasdale announces the addition of Associate Partners Scott Hilton and Ashley Wright to the firm’s London office and Associate Jordan Westgate to the Salt Lake City office. Their experience spans a variety of practice areas including real estate, corporate law, and litigation. Hilton, Wright and Westgate join a roster of more than 360 attorneys at Armstrong Teasdale internationally.

Hilton is an associate partner in the firm’s U.K. real estate practice with significant experience in a broad range of commercial property transactions across the key asset classes. Scott has particular experience in large, complex development transactions in which he has advised on-site assembly and strategic land acquisitions, including the use of special purpose vehicle and joint venture structures. He regularly handles all matters relating to the acquisition, disposal, and management of freehold and leasehold property, secured lending projects, and landlord and tenant transactions. Scott is experienced in acting for U.K. housebuilders, large developers, institutional investors, corporate occupiers, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and a Premier League football club.

Wright has extensive experience across all legal aspects of the energy sector. For more than 13 years, he has held partnership and leadership positions in international firms, helping some of the largest international energy companies. He has done deals for clients from around the world and across a significant number of jurisdictions, acting for leading national and international corporates, banks, NOCs, independent energy companies, and oil majors. Although he focuses on corporate law and complex M&A transactions, Wright understands the entire spectrum of the energy sector, and so he has advised on projects, joint ventures, disputes, debt financings, bond financings, arbitrations, restructurings, and regulatory issues in the sector. He has extensive experience in the energy market in Asia and has worked with international clients on multiple cross-border projects and disputes. Given his prior experience in-house with a British multinational oil and gas company, Wright is commercially savvy and understands the drivers of corporate success and the leverage which legal analysis and risk mitigation can provide to build and sustain successful businesses.

Westgate focuses her practice on a variety of civil matters, including commercial litigation, collections, employment law, and domestic litigation and appeals. She has extensive experience in legal research and review, as well as drafting motions and legal memoranda, and attending hearings and trials. Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Jordan served as a litigation associate at a large Intermountain law firm headquartered in Salt Lake City. She has also served as a law clerk for the Hon. Paige Petersen of the Utah Supreme Court and the Hon. Diana Hagen of the Utah Court of Appeals.
