UCCU launches CardApp, an exclusive smartphone app

Provo— Utah Community Credit Union (UCCU) has launched CardApp, a first-of-its-kind smartphone application that provides members with unparalleled convenience and control over their UCCU debit and credit cards.

The announcement comes as a result of UCCU’s partnership with Ondot Systems, a leading financial technology (fintech) company headquartered in Silicon Valley, CA.

“CardApp is intelligent technology that communicates directly with our members’ credit and debit cards,” said Justin Olson, UCCU VP of Informational Technology. “With CardApp and the swipe of a finger, our members can pause a card if it’s lost or stolen, easily keep UCCU informed when they’re traveling, customize the alerts they want to receive, and a lot more.”

The intelligent smartphone application also provides UCCU members with valuable insights into their spending patterns and behaviors.

“CardApp instantly provides the complete name and address of where purchases are made, along with real pictures and locations clearly identified on a map,” said Olson. “That makes it easier for our members to pinpoint their purchases and identity any suspicious or fraudulent activity on their accounts”

In addition to being the first-of-its-kind in the nation, the smartphone application is also exclusive to UCCU.

“We’re proud to offer this level of convenience and control to our members,” said Bret VanAusdual, UCCU CEO. “I hope it reflects this credit union’s ongoing commitment to pioneering new technologies that make banking easier, safer, and better for our members.”

The UCCU CardApp is available to download now in both the Apple and Google Play stores. Visit UCCU.com/CardApp for more information.
