Bluffdale, UT — Smith’s Food & Drug is constructing a new grocery store at 13893 South Redwood Road in Bluffdale, Utah. A groundbreaking was held on June 13 with executives from Smith’s and officials from Bluffdale City.

The 103,000 square foot store will offer complete grocery store offerings and services including sushi and Starbucks Coffee cafe, fresh made to order salads and sandwiches, hot/cold chicken, fresh seafood, Boar’s Head Meats and Murray’s Cheese. Additionally, the new store will have a floral department, household goods, drive through pharmacy, online grocery Pick Up, and on-site Smith’s Fuel Center.

The $30 million Smith’s store will be built by R & O Construction within a Woodbury Development. When completed in 2025, the new store will be the 57th Smith’s in Utah.

As part of the company’s ongoing effort to moderate energy use, the new store will have the latest energy efficient technologies in overhead lighting and cooling.

During construction, Smith’s will require the builder, R & O Construction, to recycle 90% of the project’s total non-hazardous waste such as scrap wood, metal, cardboard, concrete brick, and plastic as part of Smith’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste initiative.

“Smith’s is an exciting, welcomed addition to our growing community,” said Bluffdale Mayor Natalie Hall. This will be Bluffdale’s first grocery store, and our residents are eagerly anticipating its opening next year."
