Promontory Foundation raises an unprecedented $400K for Park City and Summit County area nonprofits
Park City, UT — Park City’s most exclusive, private community’s foundation, Promontory Foundation, hosted its annual grant reception, The Happiest Hour on August 27, awarding a record $400K in grants to 32 non-profits who serve the Park City and Summit County area. Promontory Foundation raised the funds through generous donations from Promontory Club members during its annual summer fundraising events.
“Promontory Foundation is incredibly proud to be one of the largest philanthropic sources for our vital non-profits that make the Park City area so special. Our members feel deeply connected to Summit County and recognize the crucial role of non-profits in meeting the needs of the community, whether that is providing critical social services or access to dynamic arts and cultural opportunities,” said Meryl Van der Merwe, Executive Director of the Promontory Foundation.
Through the generous support of Promontory’s philanthropic residents, Promontory Foundation awarded $400,000 in grants to grant recipients recognized during the reception at Double Deer Ballroom. This year’s fundraising total surpassed 2023’s record of $372,500 in grants to 31 non-profits. Since the Foundation’s inception in 2006, approximately $3.2 million has been raised for local non-profits. With the matching grant requirement, the total impact to the Park City community non-profits is $8.9 million.
This year’s $50,000 “Promontory Promise Grant” was awarded to PC Tots, a non-profit that provides high-quality early childhood education and care to children and their families regardless of financial barriers.
“The Promontory Foundation has been a consistent and generous supporter of PC Tots. This support has allowed us to provide high quality early education for children of working families in the Wasatch Back,” remarked Sue Banerjee, PC Tots’ executive director. “As the recipient of the Promontory Promise Grant, PC Tots will be able to use the $50,000 to provide more working families with tuition scholarships, thereby helping to make high quality care affordable. With the support of the Promontory Foundation, PC Tots is a step closer to realizing our vision of a community where all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
