SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business Executive MBA (EMBA) program has achieved its highest national ranking to date, earning the No. 17 spot in the United States and No. 3 in the West in the 2025 Financial Times EMBA rankings. The program also rose to No. 7 nationally among public universities and No. 88 worldwide, continuing its steady climb among the world’s top business schools.

“This recognition underscores the tremendous value of an Eccles education,” said Brad Vierig, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Executive Education. “Our return on education remains one of the strongest in the country: Graduates report a 54% income increase within three years, reflecting both the program’s academic rigor and the transformative power of our network.”

The Eccles EMBA is designed for mid- to senior-level professionals who want to strengthen their leadership capabilities while continuing to advance their careers. The program combines executive-level instruction in strategy, innovation, and finance with global learning experiences and an emphasis on real-world application.

“Our Executive MBA develops leaders who not only advance their own careers but also elevate the organizations and communities they serve,” said Kurt Dirks, dean of the Eccles School. “I am excited how the school is creating positive economic and societal impact in Utah and beyond through these leaders.”

In addition to its outstanding rankings, the Eccles School’s standing as a Research 1 institution and its ongoing investment in faculty thought leadership continue to elevate the value of its graduate programs. Faculty research, published in top-tier journals, directly informs the curriculum and strengthens the experience for students and alumni alike.
