PARK CITY, UTAH — The Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau in partnership with Mountainlands Community Housing Trust, Rossignol and JANS & Fishwest recently announced the third relaunch of workforce employer rental incentive program (WE RIP).
“Seasonal workers are the backbone of our visitor economy, bringing energy, dedication and heart to the community” said Scott House, VP of partner services. “Programs like WE RIP give us the opportunity to give back—supporting housing, rewarding their contributions and fostering a truly ‘Mountainkind’ community where everyone thrives."
Under WE RIP, landlords who apply online and rent to the local workforce will receive special incentives. This year’s options include Rossignol alpine skis and bindings, a fly fishing rod and reel package from Orvis or Sage courtesy of JANS & Fishwest or a $300 Mountainkind card from the Park City Chamber. Listings are posted on the WE RIP website and available to employees of Chamber partners until filled. Last year, the program incentivized 13 listings, comprising 22 rooms and up to 36 beds. This season, the goal is to engage 15-20 local landlords, representing 40-50 beds in inventory.
“Mountainlands Community Housing Trust is committed to expanding housing opportunities in the Wasatch Back, and the WE RIP program provides a unique way for local businesses and residents to come together to address the critical need for housing in our area,” said Jason Glidden, executive director of Mountainlands Community Housing Trust.
