OGDEN, Utah — Placing world-class drivers in RTR’s best vehicles, the Young Automotive Group’s three Ford locations hosted a drift demo in their Ogden dealership’s new car lot.

The event — which featured models like the Urban Bamboozle Mustang RTR — brought in the talents of motorsport professionals, including four-time Formula Drift champion James Deane and Formula Drift pro driver Ben Hobson. Free to attend, patrons were able to witness the driving from 5-9 p.m., as well as order from food trucks, collect swag and participate in an RC car driving competition. Young Ford also provided select individuals who either won an online contest or a donation raffle that benefited the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation with an opportunity to ride in one of the vehicles with the drifters.
“Last night showed exactly what happens when passion meets performance,” said Josh Hipp, sales and marketing director at RTR Vehicles. “Enthusiasts, dealers and the RTR Drift Team came together to create an evening full of adrenaline and unforgettable memories. Partnering with Young Ford is just the beginning — we’re excited to keep building on this momentum and can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
Prior to the demo, the dealerships also partnered with Young Caring for Our Young to host the sixth installment of their First Responder of the Year giveaway. Bringing together individuals from Ogden’s fire and police departments, the organizations held a drawing for an officer to win an all-expenses paid, one year lease on a new vehicle — resulting in detective Cody Wright receiving the prize.
“You cannot have a successful police department without the support of the community,” said Tyler Ziegler, deputy chief of police in Ogden City. “When we have events like this where businesses, community members are reaching out and saying ‘hey, we want to do something nice for you because we appreciate you,’ that overcomes a lot for officers who are out every day facing things that you don’t want to face on a daily basis. This positive interaction with our community just reinforces the fact that we live in a city where we’re supported, and because of that support, we can be successful.”
Both the drift demo and giveaway come 11 days after the grand opening ceremony of Young Ford Brigham City’s new location. The dealership serves as one of the Young Automotive Group’s three destinations for vehicles from Ford, Shelby-American, Black Widow Trucks and RTR vehicles.
“As the Young Automotive Group grows, we continually search for ways to make sure we’re adding value to our communities,” said Kory Martin, general manager of Young Ford Brigham City. “We have a variety of operations across our organizations, and we always try to make sure that what we do resonates with our passions. Our team looks forward to not only setting standards in our industry, but expanding our presence in Utah’s automotive event scene.”
