SAN ANTONIO — Steves & Sons, the oldest millwork manufacturing company in the United States under the same family ownership and management, has completed a 100,000-square-foot expansion at its advanced production facility in Brigham City, Utah. The expansion includes a new state-of-the-art robotic prime line, increases manufacturing capacity, enhances warehousing space and improves material flow.

This investment reflects the company’s strategic growth plan that capitalizes on population growth across the Mountain West region. Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada and Utah were among the top 10 states in the nation for population growth from 2020 to 2024, collectively adding more than 967,000 residents and 512,000 new housing units.

“This expansion is more than just additional space — it represents our growth, our forward-looking strategy and, above all, our dedication to the customers we serve,” said Scott Lovett, chief operating officer.

Nick Palmer, a Utah native, will lead operations and oversee 135 employees at the plant as general manager, following his appointment in July 2025. He brings extensive experience in leading growth into new vertically integrated operations.

“As demand for housing continues to increase across the region, we are aggressively investing in the infrastructure needed to remain a reliable, responsive and innovative partner in meeting that growth,” said Palmer.

Since January 2025, several cities in the Mountain West —Boise, Idaho; Denver, Colorado; and Phoenix, Arizona—have ranked among the top 30 U.S. cities for the highest number of new building permits.
