Salt Lake City—Stack Homes, a Salt Lake City based modular home and accessory dwelling unit builder, has completed the acquisition of Modules, LLC to expand its manufacturing capabilities.
The new manufacturing division, known as Stack Modular Development, will be producing its Stack Homes models as well as modular buildings for large scale residential developments and commercial projects. In addition to the acquisition, the company recently moved into a new 80,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. This location, with the build out of tech-enabled state-of-the-art production lines, will allow the company to produce over 620 homes per year. It also grants Stack Homes space to offer a beautiful design showroom in the future for clients to tour the manufacturing process and view completed homes. An example of the pioneering technology Stack Modular Development will be implementing includes a system similar to 3-D printing that can precision cut steel with accuracy to 1/4th of a centimeter to build the structural envelope of the building in less than a day. In addition, a laser guided assembly system allows operators to quickly and accurately sequence work and position components.Stack Homes was founded by Sumner Douglas in 2019.
