Salt Lake City—The Utah Chapter of CCIM held its annual CCIM Excellence Awards on May 6th, an event honoring professionals within Utah’s commercial real estate industry who exemplify the highest degree of business excellence. Throughout the evening, the state’s top commercial transactions were highlighted, along with the industry’s top performers spanning 16 different categories. The pinnacle of the event was the Hall of Fame award, which was bestowed upon the family-run Woodbury Corporation’s five third-generation Woodburys—Rick, Randy, Jeff, Lynn and Guy. This year’s event theme was, ‘The Next Generation of Excellence,’ so there was a heavy focus on younger, newer real estate professionals who are building their careers for the future.
“Though overall sales and leasing activity has slowed in recent months, the energy and attendance of this year’s celebration showed no indication of a slowdown. The event was a great success and provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the professional accomplishments of many outstanding individuals,” noted Katie Wilking, CCIM, MRED, current CCIM Utah Chapter President. “I’ve been involved in the Excellence Awards event since 2017? Now, and one thing I can tell you about professionals in the commercial real estate industry is that they’re resilient problem solvers. The last few years have been challenging, and we have some challenging months ahead of us, but I am anxious to see how the industry gets creative as it continues to find solutions for clients and keep the business moving forward.”
