Salt Lake City— The Salt Lake City office of CBRE today announced that the Salt Lake Chamber (The Chamber) has signed a new lease at 201 Tower, a Class A office building in downtown’s Central Business District. Barb Johnson and Kreg Peterson represented the Salt Lake Chamber in the transaction, while Brigham Latimer from CBRE Project Management is overseeing the tenant improvement build-out.
Located at 201 S. Main Street, The Chamber has signed a lease totaling 14,118 square feet located on the 23rd floor of the 24-story skyscraper. Featuring sweeping views, the space has been recently refurbished to include high-end finishes and a healthy ratio of public meeting space. Encompassing 420,000 square feet, 201 Tower has undergone extensive renovations to its common areas in the past two years, including a newly remodeled lobby. Its location adjacent to Gallivan Plaza also provides ample outdoor space for building tenants to take short breaks and connect to the local community via regularly held public events. The Chamber is making some minor modifications to its space layout before occupancy, which is expected to occur this summer.
“The timing of The Chamber’s relocation was serendipitous as it provided the opportunity to take advantage of current market conditions and assume space that was a near-perfect match for the organization’s business needs,” commented Johnson, first vice president. “This newly leased space situates The Chamber in the heart of downtown’s business district, making their offices much more accessible by foot, bike or train, with bike kiosks and a TRAX platform located right outside their door. There is also ample parking at the site for those who are traveling from greater distances.”
“Utah is blessed with some of the most beautiful and creative work spaces found anywhere,” said Derek Miller, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber and Downtown Alliance. “We are pleased with the opportunity to balance the mission of the Chamber, to serve our members as the effective voice of business, with conditions that will allow our team members to excel in an environment best suited to their needs. I want to personally thank CBRE for being a great partner throughout our search and leasing process, and we look forward to welcoming all our members, and the business community at large, to our new offices just as soon as we get settled.”
Formerly known as the One Utah Center, 201 Tower was constructed in 1991 and features an on-site cafe; direct lobby access from the parking garage; and offers controlled, 24-hour building access with an on-site property manager.
